I work at Pushpay - we build a mobile donation and engagement platform for churches and charities.

I'm sure you've seen in the news, hurricane Harvey recently tore through parts of the USA.

It has devastated people. The recovery is expected to take years and the need for those affected is great.

When the disaster struck, a number of churches that we serve took action immediately.
Their feedback to us, in many cases, has gone along the lines of:

“Using Pushpay, we set up a special fund for hurricane Harvey. Within a week we raised $X to help support those affected”
— (I’m paraphrasing, I don’t want to quote anything directly without permission!)

18 months ago, setting up a special relief fund to donate to would not have been a simple task.
A feature we built last year made this considerably easier for churches, meaning they can get a new relief fund up and running with just a few clicks.
Knowing that they're using this feature in this way is pretty inspiring.

So - what did I learn?

I’ve learned that the stuff I’ve worked on has made a real, measurable difference in peoples lives. That’s kinda special.
